Belle Kogan (Fine Arts, Alumna)

The Quacker Clock, (circa 1935)
Courtesy of Jim Linz

This electric alarm clock for Telechron shows the use of bright color in the attractive, inexpensive, and durable new medium of plastic, ideally suited to mass production. Kogan, one of the first American female industrial designers, was an early pioneer in the use of plastics, and her clocks are collector's items today.
