In the 1970s, Nelson and his business partner were asked to come up with an identity for a new line of pantyhose to be marketed as a lower-cost alternative to department store hosiery. He came up with the name No Nonsense, and designed its now-iconic orange packages, which remained a mainstay of drugstore and supermarket aisles for decades.
