Korean-born artist Lee's monumental canvas advances the language of contemporary abstraction through an exploration of negative and positive space; it is a bold step forward for the artist who is known largely for his pen-and-ink drawings. Lee has been the subject of a mid-career retrospective at the San Jose Museum of Art and a solo exhibition at the Queens Museum of Art. His work has been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian Museum of Art, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea.
