Assistant Director of Special Projects for Equity and Inclusion
Jazmin Peralta has been named Assistant Director of Special Projects for Equity and Inclusion, a new position within the Division of Student Affairs at Pratt Institute.
As Assistant Director of Special Projects for Equity and Inclusion, Peralta will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise on matters of equity and inclusion for the Division of Student Affairs, promoting a positive campus climate, and acting as an advocate for issues of diversity and social justice within the Pratt community.
Since 2014, Peralta has served as LEAD Scholars Academy Coordinator for Third and Fourth Year Tracks at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She has also worked as an academic coordinator and facilitator in roles that involved assisting students with meeting their personal and academic goals and supporting the overall success of first-time-in-college and first-generation college students. In coming to Pratt, Peralta will share both her experience with, and commitment to, supporting the student experience through co-curricular opportunities, leadership development, activism, and community building.
Peralta holds a Master of Science degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, from Kaplan University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a Certificate in Hispanic Marketing and Communications from Florida State University in Tallahassee.

Diversity Steering Committee
The purpose of this committee is to develop implementation strategies for strategic directions that have emerged from meetings with senior leadership and the Main Event. The committee will be charged with:
- Developing strategies for diversity and inclusion for areas of focus identified by senior leadership
- Identifying measurements to map progress toward attainment
- Determining the institutional capacity necessary to establish shared and sustained leadership including the organizational structure, areas of accountability, resources, and staffing levels within the context of other priorities at Pratt.
- Making recommendations for the strategic directions.
