Faculty Orientation – Registration
Hello, and welcome to Pratt! We hope that you will be able to join us for this spring’s Faculty Orientation, which is scheduled for Thursday, January 17, from 8:30 AM–1 PM in the Pratt Library’s 2nd Floor Periodicals Room followed by optional hands-on workshops in the afternoon. We will welcome you with a light breakfast and end with lunch.
The morning’s programming will be devoted to discussions about how Pratt supports its faculty and its students, with sessions on::
- Supporting faculty in their teaching, with a focus on resources available and a workshop session on helping ALL students achieve the goals we set for them
- Supporting student success, with a focus on the holistic support available to students in the form of academic and Student Life resources, the policies and processes that guide the work we all do, and the kinds of challenges that tend to come up in any given semester
- Supporting faculty in their creative work / research, with time to engage with Pratt’s Associate Provost for Research and Strategic Partnerships
This will also be a chance for you to learn about Pratt’s system of shared governance and how you can participate in it. Our goals are for you to leave this Orientation having learned some key things about how Pratt works as well as the resources we have to support you, and energized by the prospect of participating in the Pratt community.
You will also have the opportunity to reserve a spot for one of the two the Learning Management System (LMS) workshops that will take place immediately following this event as well as a workshop offered by Human Resources. See details and RSVP to sign up.
