Pratt Institute Student Union Building

The Pratt Student Union is the center of student life on the Brooklyn Campus. Reopening in the fall of 2018, the Student Union is a place for the Pratt community to gather, study, relax, and innovate. The Student Union provides spaces for student groups to meet and for project teams to collaborate.

Staffed by a team of Pratt students and professionals, the Student Union strives to serve as both the living room and downtown of the Pratt Brooklyn Campus. The Student Union is an inclusive space for all and will serve to foster the connection between student and Institute.

The Student Union features a main space with stadium seating and projector capability. Holding over 250 persons, the Student Union is ideal for larger student programs. The space also features three conference rooms, complete with video displays. The Pool Lounge is a smaller space available for more intimate events such as a film screening or acoustic musical performance.

Students and student organizations have priority when reserving spaces in the Student Union. Until two weeks prior to a given date, Pratt students will have the ability to reserve any of the spaces in the Student Union. After that date, reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Exceptions will be considered for following:

  • Institute wide initiatives
  • Use of Conference Rooms between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM, Monday–Friday
  • At the discretion of Associate Director of the Student Union

Students can make a reservation request at the front desk of the Student Union, the Associate Director of the Student Union, or with a member of the Office of Student Involvement. Faculty and staff wishing to make a reservation must do so through the 25Live platform.

If a department at Pratt wishes to reserve the main volume of the Student Union for a major event, they will be asked to fill out the application below. No more than four such events will be approved each semester. If additional student staff are required, the associated department will be asked to pay to cover the staff. Any additional custodial staff or Public Safety Officers must also be covered by the requesting party.
