As fraternal social organizations aimed to promote brotherhood and sisterhood amongst fellow students, Greek-lettered organizations at Pratt Institute defy stereotypes as well as expectations. As mutual aid organizations providing academic and social activities and support, students involved in these groups develop leadership skills, participate in community service events throughout campus and the surrounding neighborhood, gain a network of fellow students and alumni, and ensure prestige and integrity as representatives of their chapter, organization, and institution.
Pratt Institute takes great strides in maintaining an orderly and functional Greek Life system that encourages student involvement and campus unity for its members and all students. In doing so, the ideals of brotherhood and sisterhood, leadership, philanthropy, service, integrity, and loyalty are met and promoted throughout campus and each student's day-to-day work.
Fraternities and Sororities
Two fraternities, one local and one national, and two sororities, both national organizations, make up the Greek Life community at Pratt Institute. To learn more about these organizations, please visit respective Greek-lettered organization websites.
Inter-Greek Council (IGC)
The Inter-Greek Council (IGC) at Pratt Institute is the sole governing body of all Greek-lettered organizations on campus. It coordinates events sponsored by its members, provides funding, and establishes a common ground for all fraternities and sororities. IGC is unique because it is not governed by Pratt's Student Government Association (SGA). It is a separate entity controlled by its member organizations. Its goal is to provide a unique learning experience to all students. For more information contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
National Panhellenic Council (CPC)
The National Panhellenic Council is the local governing board and is composed of one or more chapter representatives from each women's fraternity.
We, as undergraduate members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We as fraternity women, stand for service through development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of the individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
