STUDENTS RETURNING AFTER A LEAVE OF ABSENCE (LOA)

A leave of absence refers to students who filled out the leave of absence paperwork, submitted the paperwork to the Registrar’s office and the leave of absence has not expired.

A student returning from a leave of absence must request a new I-20 three months before they want to return to Pratt. The deadline to request the I-20 is June 1 to return in Fall and November 1 to return in Spring. You will also need a new visa.

Review this link for step-by-step instructions on how to return to Pratt after a leave of absence. Please begin this process at least three months before you intend to return to Pratt and keep the I-20 application deadlines in mind.

*  Note that you can only return from a LOA for the Fall or Spring semester, not for the summer.

** Students on a medical leave of absence must contact the Health and Counseling Office to request the Health Hold to be removed. Their email is health@pratt.edu.

READMITTED STUDENTS

You need to be readmitted if:

  • Your Leave of Absence expired
  • You left Pratt without taking a Leave of Absence
  • You withdrew from Pratt

As a readmitted student, you need to complete the Readmission application. Deadlines are May 1 for returning in Fall and October 1 for returning in Spring.

Please refer to our readmitted students’ guide for more information.
