Sophomore Student Move In and Orientation Information

We hope your first year at Pratt was successful and you are enjoying some down time before joining us again in the Fall. Because of the lack of in person orientation your class received last year, we would like to offer you an opportunity to come back a few days early to experience that aspect of our orientation program. This is completely optional, but may offer you the chance to familiarize yourself with the campus and neighborhood, as well as meet your classmates and some faculty in person.  This program is open to both students living on and off campus.

As of now, we plan to have these workshops/events for sophomores:

  • Campus and "find your classroom" tours, led by current students

  • Pratt Quest (an event that takes students in small teams around to various departments on campus, allowing them to learn what they do and where they are located).  This is planned for Friday afternoon.

  • Weekend trips around NYC, using the subway system

  • Academic computing and printing orientation, including visits to the various computer labs on campus

  • Some academic departments will host sessions for new and sophomore students

  • Lunch on Thursday that will gather sophomores into their first year cohorts, along with the professors who taught them.

We will keep you updated over the summer, as we create a definite schedule for these, and other, events.
