Submissions from the School of Architecture are deeply focused on positioning technologies and the built environment in conversation and harmony with the natural world and/or previously built environments. There’s also a particular focus on shifting architectural practice, making, and theory to reflect the evolving world, impacted by COVID-19 and climate change.
Projects in the School of Art focus on the fundamental ingredient of community within artistic practice; how it supports, evolves, and communicates the spectrum of our lived experience and its capacity to inspire change and empower us to contribute in making a better world.
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies supports research through workshops for creative professionals that can enhance both their work and personal lives, giving strategies for mindfulness as well as how to continue teaching and sharing information in a post-pandemic world.
The School of Design shows that both in theory and practice, designers are focused on the immediate impacts of their work and how design engages and provokes in myriad ways, from sound and digital interaction and activism to the natural and built environment and our sense of identity.
The School of Information leverages expertise in technology and user experience to propose and explore potential ways of interacting with data in order to better the world we live in and open access to information and knowledge.
Research from the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences is as diverse as the subjects contained within the School itself. From the study of materials and their degradation to deep dives into subject matter ranging from music, performance, social justice, and the environment, you’ll find that no subject exists in isolation, and instead, reverberates and impacts all facets of our perceived and physical reality.
Projects from the Office of the Provost represent the web of interconnectedness in the practice of creativity, education, activism, and community, and how these factors are inextricably linked and interplay with each other constantly.
