Tiffany Townsend brings more than 15 years of experience across communications, marketing, and public affairs for hospitality and lifestyle brands. She currently serves at the Senior Vice President of External Affairs for the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Throughout her career, she has worked on range of projects including the go-to-market plan for the New York Wheel; positioning the North Shore of Staten Island as a tourism destination through the Destination St. George marketing coalition. Under the Bloomberg administration, she was part of the team that achieved Mayor Bloomberg’s mandate to attract 50 million visitors annually to NYC by 2012 -a goal met one year ahead of schedule. She also helped launched NYC’s first brand campaign, This Is New York City, in partnership with American Airlines and the Just Ask the Locals celebrity brand ambassador campaign.

She began her career working with the U.S. Mission to the United States on economic and social issues. Her work has also included working in the New Jersey Governor’s office as well as the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, acquiring knowledge of transportation issues (airline, sea, rail, and bus) as well as inter-governmental structure and relationships.
She also served as a Partner at Wander, a communications firm specializing in travel and hospitality clients, spearheading business development and client relations. Clients and projects include Reef Resorts, Routes Kilimanjaro Adventures, Dolphin Point Villas, Van Berkel, and Trek Bikes. Tiffany has advised on numerous independent tourism and marketing projects and provides pro-bono work Machame Cultural Tourism in Tanzania. She holds a Master of Science in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Art in International Affairs from The George Washington University. She is based in New York City.
