Mauricio Lopez is a lighting designer, architect and artist. He is the founder and principal of ML Studio, Inc., an architectural lighting design firm based in New York City. ML Studio works on a variety of projects including hospitality, corporate, residential, retail and institutional, in the United States and abroad. Mauricio brings to each project his expertise and understanding of the physical and perceptual aspects of lighting and architecture, which ML Studio defines as: Light + Architecture = Space. Since its inception in 2011, ML Studio’s projects have won several Awards of Merit by the Illuminating Engineering Society.

His artwork is included in public and private collections such the New York MTA, Arts for Transit and Urban Design, with the work “Past/Present/Future’ installed at Beach 25th St, “A’ train station. His artwork also won the Urbancanvas competition organized by the NYC Departments of Buildings and Cultural Affairs, the NYC Mayor’s Office and the Rockefeller Foundation.
