Biography
Jason Stopa is painter and writer living in Brooklyn, NY. He received his BFA from Indiana University and his MFA from Pratt Institute. He currently teaches at The School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute. Stopa also works for an academic journal at Columbia University. His writing has appeared in Art in America, Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, and Whitewall Magazine. His recent curatorial projects include “A New Subjectivity: Figurative Painters after 2000” which traveled to Pratt Manhattan Gallery, (2017), University of Arkansas, (2017), The Reece Museum, (2017) and Wesleyan University, (2018).
