Ignition Lab

Pratt’s Center for Career and Professional Development has created the Ignition Lab, an experiential learning program for Pratt’s aspiring entrepreneurs. Open to Pratt students and alumni, the seven-month intensive program will expose participants to the practices of creating a startup and allow them to build on this foundational knowledge by working in teams to launch a business.

The program includes a series of workshops and features guidance from an Entrepreneur in Residence, mentors with expertise in different facets of entrepreneurship, and speakers who are known around the world for their startup success. Putting theory into practice, each team will develop a business plan around a viable product that they will pitch to a panel of entrepreneurship luminaries at the conclusion of the program.

“The Ignition Lab is an exciting new initiative that empowers entrepreneurial Pratt students and alumni to take informed risks in a structured and supportive environment while being inspired by established innovators and mentors,” said Associate Director of Career and Professional Development Carl Fengler, who is managing the program. “At the Center for Career and Professional Development we are creating ways to build up and support the innovative start-up culture at Pratt and can't wait to launch this program,” he added.

The Ignition Lab will run from September 2017 to April 2018, and the deadline to apply is September 18. Learn more about the Ignition Lab, including information on how to apply for the program.
