Patrik Schumacher of Zaha Hadid Architects will deliver a lecture at Pratt Institute as part of the School of Architecture’s fall 2011 lecture series at 6 PM on Thursday, November 17 in Higgins Hall Auditorium at 61 St. James Place in Brooklyn. The lecture is free and open to the public; however, seating priority will be given to Pratt students and faculty members with valid ID at 5:30 PM. Members of the public will be admitted at 5:50 PM if seating is available.

As the company director and senior designer for Zaha Hadid Architects, Schumacher is involved alongside Hadid in all projects the firm undertakes and maintains an active role throughout the design process. He is currently involved in several major masterplan projects, including the Kartal Pendik district in Istanbul and Singapore’s One North research district.

Recent work includes the MAXXI Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome, which won the 2010 Royal Institute of British Architects Stirling Prize, a British prize for excellence in architecture. In addition to his work at Zaha Hadid Architects, Schumacher is founding director at the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory and a professor of architecture at Innsbruck University, Austria. He has been with Zaha Hadid Architects since 1988.
