The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority. See below for more information on what you can expect during your visit.

Beginning August 24th 2020, campus is open to students, faculty and staff if applicable. Campus will remain closed to non-essential visitors and the public. Faculty and staff requesting access for visitors, guests, alumni, contractors, and vendors, are required to follow the steps and requirements outlined in the Campus Access Policy prior to the individual or vendor entering campus.

Beginning November 24th 2020, campus will be closed to students. All in-person components of hybrid courses will be completed no later than Tuesday, November 24th. Following the Thanksgiving Break, all instruction for the final two weeks of the semester will be online. Student access to the Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses after November 24th will cease unless a faculty or staff member schedules an appointment to meet with a student and sends a confirmation email to  Faculty and staff will continue to have access to campus after November 24, as will student employees who have scheduled work hours on campus.

Before returning to campus, all students, faculty and staff must follow the campus access checklist below.


Prepare for your arrival

Before you arrive on campus (up to 4 hours prior to arrival)

  • Complete the Health Screening Questionnaire (HSQ) in the PrattSafe app.  

  • Follow the guidelines provided upon completing the questionnaire.

  • Once you complete the questionnaire, you will receive a digital self-assessment status badge, within the app. 

Upon arrival on campus

Pratt community members may experience a line or queue at the main entrance of either campus. Please be patient as we transition to a new semester together. 

  • Brooklyn

    • Enter at 200 Willoughby Avenue (vehicles and pedestrians)

    • Beginning the week of August 24, additional temperature screening stations will be opened at Higgins Hall and Myrtle Hall. An additional vehicle station will be at the Willoughby Avenue/Myrtle Hall parking lot.

  • Manhattan

    • Enter through 144 West 14th Street

  • Wear a face covering.

  • Practice social distancing, keeping at least 6 feet of distance between you and others.

  • Open the PrattSafe app and show your digital ID

    • Students, faculty, and staff should be prepared to show their digital ID through the Pratt Safe app while on campus. The digital ID also will allow you to move around campus without retaking your temperature. You will only be required to complete a temperature screening once per day.

    • If you do not have a smartphone, devices will be available at campus entry points for community members to use at check in. A validation sticker will be placed on your Pratt ID card that will expire within 24 hours. The sticker will also allow you to move around campus without retaking your temperature.

  • Complete a temperature screening

    • People with a temperature at or above 100.4°F will not be admitted onto campus.

    • Students with a temperature at or above 100.4°F will be referred to Pratt Health Services.

    • Faculty and staff with a temperature at or above 100.4°F will be referred to their primary healthcare provider, as well as instructed to notify their supervisor and Human Resources.

  • Be prepared to present or swipe your PrattCard ID to enter campus buildings where needed.

While on campus

  • Students, faculty, and staff must follow all social contract requirements.

  • Frequently wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

  • Follow physical distancing protocols.

  • Abide by all posted signage.

  • Faculty and staff should follow guidance to clean and disinfect personal workspace or office to help maintain a healthy campus.
