Policy Statement and Purpose
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, changes to normal campus access have been instituted to ensure the health and safety of the campus community and to comply with state and local guidelines. Until further notice, Pratt’s Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses are only open and accessible to current registered students, faculty, and staff. Students cannot have visitors on campus or residence halls until further notice.
Policy Guidelines – Access
The Hall Street entrance on the corner of DeKalb Avenue hours of operation will be seven days per week from 8 am to 12 midnight for Digital ID access. You may enter at 200 Willoughby Main Gate entrance with your Digital ID or use any turnstiles for card-swipe access to the Brooklyn campus 24 hours, seven days per week. Please note access to the Pfizer building, Higgins, Myrtle, and Residence Halls are available at designated building entry points.
The main entrance located at 144 West 14th Street remains the sole entry point to the building/campus. Manhattan campus is open Monday–Friday from 7:30 am to 1 am, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 11 pm.
All students, faculty, and staff entering either campus must abide by Pratt's campus access requirements for the 2022 Spring semester. Such requirements include the social contract, proof of vaccination, booster or exemption, COVID-19 negative PCR test result within 72 hours of returning to campus, and download the Pratt Safe App. Further information on the campus access requirements and Pratt’s response to the coronavirus pandemic can be found on Back To Pratt.
Visitors/Guests/Alumni/Independent Contractors/Models – Campus Access
Visitor access to campus is strictly limited to reduce exposure and the potential spread of COVID-19. Visitors on campus should be limited to the hours of 7 am - Midnight, 7 days a week. The visitor must be pre-approved and added to the Approved for Campus Access system (ACA) by the Department who is requesting the visitor before coming to either campus. Upon arrival, visitors must present a valid form of photo identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., 14 days from final vaccine dose). (i.e., CDC Vaccination Record Card, NYC COVID Safe app, NYS Excelsior Pass, a photo of the CDC vaccination card, or international vaccination record). All visitors must wear a mask or face covering when inside campus buildings. Faculty and Staff requesting access for guests, visitors, alumni, independent contractors, and models to participate in classroom instruction involving student and/or faculty interaction such as; lectures, installing projects, film/photo shoots, repair or service equipment, etc., welcomed on campus. External visitors must be entered into the Approved for Campus Access system (ACA) by the requesting Department.
All external visitors should be asked to bring a valid form of photo identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., CDC Vaccination Record Card, NYC COVID Safe app, NYS Excelsior Pass, a photo of the CDC vaccination card, or international vaccination record) to present to Public Safety upon arrival. The visitors should be entered into the ACA system no later than 24 hours before arriving on campus. In addition, visitors must wear a mask or face covering when inside campus buildings.
Pre-approved visitors not in possession of proof of full vaccination and photo ID at the time of arrival will not be permitted to access campus or buildings.
There are designated departmental staff who have access to add visitors to the ACA system. Please consult with your department’s administrative staff to inquire. If access is needed to add guests into the ACA system, email Public Safety at email@example.com.Training, and log-in authorization will be provided upon request.
Contractors/Vendors/Subcontractors – Campus Access
In accordance with Pratt’s current COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols, the Institution will require contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to show a valid form of photo identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., 14 days from final vaccine dose) (i.e., CDC Vaccination Record Card, NYC COVID Safe app, NYS Excelsior Pass, a photo of the CDC vaccination card, or international vaccination record) to work at or visit the Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses. Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors must wear masks or face covering while inside Pratt buildings. The required documents must be presented to Public Safety at all campus entry points upon arrival.
Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors providing in-person services at either campus not involving student and faculty interaction are required to submit Pratt Institute’s COVID-19 Acknowledgement for Vendors on Campus form and company’s COVID-19 safety protocols/procedures to the Department of Legal Counsel at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 24 hours before entering campus in addition to showing photo identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination upon arrival to campus. Faculty and Staff requesting contract or vendor services are required to notify the Department of Public Safety at email@example.com no later than 24 hours before the contractor or vendor company enters campus. Faculty and Staff will inform the contractor or vendor services of the photo ID, proof of full vaccination, and face mask requirement before the individual(s) arrive at the campus to ensure compliance.
Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors not in possession of proof of full vaccination and photo ID, at the time of arrival, will not be permitted to work on campus, inside buildings, or in residence halls.
The email to Public Safety should contain the following information:
Requestor's Name, title, phone number, and email address
Date/Time and location of scheduled work or service
Duration of the work
Indicate If campus parking will be required (Brooklyn Only)
