PRATT PARTNERS WITH PUBLISHING CONCEPTS INC. FOR ALUMNI DIRECTORY

Pratt Institute has partnered with Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI) to produce an alumni directory. Over the next few months, PCI will be contacting Pratt alumni via mail, phone, and email to update your alumni information.

Pratt maintains the highest privacy standards, please be assured that your information has not been sold and that the requests for updates come from a legitimate partner of Pratt Institute.

When you are contacted by PCI, you can update your information and indicate whether or not you’d like to be included in the upcoming alumni directory. This is the first Pratt Institute Alumni directory in more than a decade, and your participation is critical to the next generation of artists, designers, architects, and information scientists from Pratt looking to connect with alumni like you!

You will also have the option to order a copy of the directory in several different formats and price ranges, as well as the option to make a donation to Pratt. Your purchases will be securely processed and can expect your copy of the directory September 2021. Please note that you are under no obligation to purchase a directory or make a donation.

Frequently Asked Questions

I RECEIVED AN EMAIL/POSTCARD/PHONE CALL FROM A COMPANY ASKING FOR MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. THEY SAID THEY WERE WORKING ON A DIRECTORY FOR PRATT INSTITUTE. IS THIS A LEGITIMATE PROJECT, OR IS IT A SCAM?

The project is legitimate.

We have partnered with Publishing Concepts (also known as PCI) to produce our new alumni directory. PCI is a company located in Dallas, TX that publishes directories for educational institutions and other organizations across the nation. This project allows Pratt Institute to receive important updates to our database so we know more about our alumni and how we can better serve you and future alumni.

HOW DO I KNOW MY INFORMATION WILL ONLY BE USED FOR THE DIRECTORY PURPOSE?

Pratt Institute has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

  1. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by Pratt Institute for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.
  2. The Directory will be made available only to alumni of Pratt Institute. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to Pratt Institute any and all electronic files that have been supplied by Pratt Institute or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.

I WOULD LIKE TO VERIFY AND UPDATE MY INFORMATION. HOW MAY I DO THIS?

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Pratt Institute project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed. One of the numbers for the Pratt Institute alumni to call is 1-888-844-4181.

If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590.

CAN ANYONE PURCHASE A DIRECTORY?

The Pratt Institute Alumni Directory is available for sale only to Pratt Institute alumni.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY DIRECTORY?

The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Directories are expected to ship in September 2021.

CAN I CHOOSE SOME OR ALL OF MY INFORMATION NOT TO PRINT IN THE DIRECTORY?

Yes. What information is included or not included is up to you.

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590 or directly to the Pratt Alumni Engagement team.

I ORDERED A DIRECTORY/PACKAGE OVER THE PHONE AND WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL MY ORDER. HOW DO I DO THIS?

Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you

HOW MUCH IS THE PROJECT COSTING PRATT?

Pratt has partnered with PCI on this project at no cost to the Institute. Pratt will get the updated information alumni report at no charge. All costs associated with producing the directory and communications are handled by PCI.

HOW MUCH OF THE PROCEEDS OF THE DIRECTORY SALES GO TO PRATT?

The purchase of a directory and/or any related materials is a purchase and not a donation. The entire amount goes to PCI to cover the costs of compiling data, producing the directory, and marketing materials.
