PHOTOGRAPHY TALK SERIES
The Pratt Photography Talks are presented by the Pratt Photography Department and feature a diverse range of photographers, critics, and curators speaking about their work.
VISITING ARTIST LECTURE SERIES (FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT)
Each year Pratt Fine Arts invites contemporary artists to campus for a public lecture and to conduct studio visits with fine arts graduate students. The Visiting Artists Lecture Series (VALS) is coordinated by graduate student leaders. The aim is to provide our students with exposure to a wide array of artists working in a variety of fields at various stages in their career.
Teaching Photographs was conceived as a horizontal brain trust – one that would carry, hold and transport a whole host of ideas about how photographs operate in the world – if and when they do – as objects, images and concepts, as agents of information and exchange, as material, as immaterial and finally as material culture. We started with a handful of questions that served as pedagogical prompts to frame the initial Teaching Photographs symposium that took place in October 2019. We now use it as a construct for continuing programming.

HOW ARE PHOTOGRAPHS MADE?
