ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

Ariella Chezar has lectured at botanical gardens and museums around the world including as guest artist at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her work  has been published in Martha Stewart's Weddings, Oprah Magazine, Town & Country, Veranda, Vogue, and Flower Magazine. She is known for her seasonal style and use of flowers in season. A talented florist with 30 years of experience, Ariella is a teacher with a keen understanding of color and proportion. She gently coaxes her students to achieve her loose, unstructured style using a variety of blossoms, blooms and local greenery.

Master Florist  Shane Connolly has held a deep respect for nature since he was a boy growing up in Northern Ireland. He established Shane Connolly & Co in 1989 after training with some of London's leading flower designers. Not only a passionate advocate of British-grown, seasonal flowers, Shane is a champion of sustainability in his business and design practices, and among the very first to lead the #nofloralfoam movement that many are now embracing. He is a member of the floral advisory panel to the Royal Horticultural Society.

Among his clients are the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Royal Academy of Arts.

In 2005, he was honored and delighted to be asked by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall to design her bouquet and all the other flowers for her marriage to HRH Prince of Wales and the service of dedication in Windsor Castle. In recognition of this, Shane was awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment to HRH The Prince of Wales in 2006. In 2011 Shane was appointed Artistic Director for the wedding of TRH’s The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and was awarded a second Royal Warrant of Appointment, to HM The Queen in 2015.

Bella Meyer, Founder and Creative Director of fleursBELLA, was born in Paris and grew up immersed in art and painting. After having attained a Ph.D. in Medieval Art History at the Sorbonne in Paris, she moved to New York where she focused on puppetry as well as creating theater costumes, props and masks. Over the years Bella incorporated flowers into her work, and in 2005 the studio was born. Flowers have always been close to Bella’s heart. Their unique ability to inspire people to smile, or to bring a moment’s peace, is important to her. Bella creates arrangements much in the way an artist paints, just as she had watched her grandfather, Marc Chagall, paint bouquets that brought joy to the world.
