Pratt Institute

Planned Giving

Gift Planning

Making a planned gift to Pratt provides tremendous charitable advantages to the Institute and also can be a source of financial benefit to you.  Your contribution can be designated to an area of your choosing, such as scholarships, fellowships, faculty development, an academic program, or general support.  Regardless of which option you choose, you will help to ensure that future generations of students are able to pursue their academic, creative, and professional dreams, continuing the rich tradition started by founder Charles Pratt.

As you formulate your financial objectives, we invite you to consider the following gift planning opportunities, all of which will benefit Pratt and allow you to create a legacy for yourself:

• Bequest Expectancy

You may bequeath a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to Pratt Institute in your Will.

• Gift of Appreciated Securities or Property

You may contribute appreciated assets, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and real estate, which in most cases, will enable you to avoid paying capital gains taxes, and receive an immediate income tax deduction.

• Charitable Gift Annuity

You may make a gift to Pratt and receive fixed annual payments for life or for a specified period of time.

• Charitable Remainder Trust

You may establish a trust and receive a fixed income based on the value of the asset at the time the trust is created.

• Retirement Plans

You may name Pratt Institute as a beneficiary on your IRA or retirement account.

• Life Insurance

You may name Pratt Institute as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy.

Donors of planned gifts to Pratt Institute are invited to join the Renaissance Society, a giving society that was established to recognize loyal alumni and friends who remember Pratt through this type of meaningful commitment.

Thank you for considering making a planned gift to Pratt. If you have any questions or wish to obtain additional information, please contact Janet Kashuba at (718) 399-4296 or at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
