Student Health Insurance

Student Health Insurance Waiver/Enrollment for Spring 2013 begins on November 14th, 2012, and ends on February 15th, 2013.

Pratt Institute requires all registered full-time and part-time students to carry health insurance. Student health insurance is offered by Pratt Institute, and all registered students are automatically charged a student health insurance fee, once they are registered for a class. Students who are currently insured under family or private medical insurance may waive (opt out of) the student health insurance plan, thus removing the student health insurance fee from their account. If you do not want to be enrolled in the student health insurance plan because you are already insured, you MUST complete the waiver process to opt out of the student health insurance  plan by the February 15th deadline. Registered students who are in need of health insurance may enroll in the student health insurance plan. Please follow the instructions below to either opt out of or enroll in the student health insurance plan.

All Students: If you are covered under private health insurance, do not want to enroll in the student health insurance plan, and wish to have the student health insurance fee removed from your account, you MUST complete an online waiver every semester that you are attending (Fall, Spring).

Returning Students: Your waiver for Fall 2012 is NOT valid for Spring 2013. You must complete a new waiver for Spring 2013.

Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan

The Pratt Student Health Insurance plan is offered through Aetna Student Health. http://www.aetnastudenthealth.com

Students wishing to ENROLL in the student health insurance plan must visit http://www.aetnastudenthealth.com and complete the enrollment process. An insurance ID card will be mailed to you within 10 business days after enrollment. For inquiries about the student health insurance plan, please contact Aetna student health customer service at 866-618-0028.

Attention all students: Please check your Pratt email regularly. Email notifications will be sent to your Pratt email every semester with instructions and deadlines about the waiver/enrollment process.

How do I waive(opt out of) or enroll?

1. Visit http://www.aetnastudenthealth.com
2. Click on "Find your school"
3. Enter "Pratt"
4. Click on the link "Pratt Institute"
5. Click on "Medical plan: Enroll/Waive here"
6. Select either "waive", or "enroll"
7. Proceed to complete waiver/enrollment process
