Exchange Programs
The exchange program is a one to one exchange of students from partner schools. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be immersed in a culture other than one’s own and learn in a new educational system and structure. Pratt students enjoy much freedom at the partner schools and must rely on self-motivation. Inbound students experience the rigor of the Pratt education and learn to be accountable for weekly assignments.
Pratt enjoys exchanging with 14 partner schools in 10 countries. Pratt does not accept exchange students from schools with which we do not exchange. They may be interested in our Visiting Student program.

An Invitation to Participate in the International Semester Exchange Program
Get away!
We invite students to do so by participating in one of Pratt’s fourteen international exchange programs. The Institute’s emphasis on diversity and the global exchange of knowledge is reflected in the selection of distinguished schools in Australia, England, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Scotland and Sweden. Each partnership school offers a program of classes in fine arts and design or architecture which are uniquely tied to the history and traditions of the country. Living in a different environment will encourage students to develop a broader view of life in the United States and of their work in art, design, & architecture.

Exchange Program Quotes
"...My experience here has been truly extraordinary, something that I will cherish forever. I have been bitten by the European bug, and it has become a goal of mine to move here sometime after graduation. It is mind boggling to think that this is my last week in London. The time has flashed by at the speed of light. Thank you for everything that you have done for me along the way of this adventure. I am utterly grateful... ", Jennifer Crain , Exchange to Central Saint Martins in London, Spring 2012
"...as far the food I'm not sure I've ever eaten so good for so cheap!", Joshua Slaby, Exchange to Korea National University of Arts, fall 2010
"While money is always a problem for students, I think the whole experience was worth every penny spent. Even though the semester was shorter in London, Igrew as an artist so far beyond any expectations I had of myself and now going in to my senior thesis I feel so exhited and ready to take on this year's challenges. I think when I look back on my Pratt education as a wholeI'll see how important the CSm portion of my collage education really was. As much as I wouldn't be where I am without Pratt, I don't think I'd be where I am without CSM just as much. I feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to experince both the US and the UK art universities". Catherine Niland, Exchange to Central Saint Martins in London, spring 2011
"We went out to various places in Glasgow and made friends with 'Glaswegians.' People here are super friendly so they had a lot of fun showing me all of the local things to do in Glasgow. I find that in any new city hanging out with locals is the best way to go!" Jenna Pierson, Exchange to Glasgow fall 2011
