Students & Alumni
The CCPD offers its resources and services to all students and alumni for life. Our staff is here to help students and alumni achieve their professional goals. We do this by offering a mixture of information resources, one-to-one and group career coaching, networking events with your peers and industry professionals, career development workshops, and more.
Professional Development Programs
In 2013/14 CCPD will be presenting more than 80 professional development programs, grouped into six distinct categories.
- Career Labs are hands-on workshops to develop and practice career skills.
- Internship Program Information Sessions will introduce you to the Internship Program at Pratt. This session is required if you plan to register for an internship course.
- Networking events are career related informal gatherings where you can socialize with your peers, alumni and professionals in the field.
- Reality Checks are moderated career learning groups with your peers and Career & Professional Development staff.
- Student Employment Information Sessions will introduce you to finding a job on-campus and how to use the PrattJobs website.
- Skill Share events are a series of small group discussions hosted by a variety of experts from the field.

Recruiting & Job Board
Each year, hundreds of employers want to find the most talented Pratt students to hire them. These employers post thousands of professional and internship opportunities on the online job board, Pratt Pro. Students and alumni have completely free access to this resource. The CCPD hosts numerous events where students and alumni can network with industry professionals and meet potential employers. In addition to career & opportunity fairs, individual employers like Apple, Nike, Sony, David Yurman, and others ask to make on-campus visits to present information sessions, review portfolios, recruit students and alumni, and conduct on-campus job interviews. All employer recruitment events are announced through our bi-monthly newsletter. Be sure to sign up at ccpd.pratt.edu/subscribe.
CCPD staff work with students and alumni individually or in group sessions to develop their career and job/internship search strategies, develop life and business plans, as well as review resumes, cover letters, websites and other marketing materials. The CCPD has built a collection of valuable resources on numerous career and professional development subjects. Our reference library and lounge contains over 200 books on topics ranging from creating resumes and portfolios to getting started with your own business, and covers the wide range of professional industries that Pratt prepares its graduates to enter. Visit us in East Building to use our reference materials; no appointment is necessary.
Additionally, we are continuously adding to our library of online resources. Visit our online Resource Library (ccpd.pratt.edu/resources) to browse a collection of curated links categorized by discipline. On our blog (ccpd.pratt.edu/blog), we publish short articles and how-to guides written by CCPD staff to supplement and synthesize the information you need to help you advance in your career path.
