Welcome new Graduate students!
Dates of orientation for Fall 2012:
Pratt will welcome new students for Fall 2012 on the following dates:
• August 15 Mandatory check in and clearance and English Placement Exam begins for International students*
• August 16 Mandatory check in, clearance and English Placement Exam continues
• August 17 Mandatory check in, clearance and English Placement Exam continues
• August 19 Residence Hall move in for International Students 9am to 5pm
Welcome and dinner 6pm
• August 20 Mandatory check in, clearance and English Placement Exam continues for International students
• August 21 Residence Hall move in for Domestic students
President's Welcome and barbecue dinner for all new students
• August 22-24 New Student Orientation for all new students
• August 27 First day of classes
*International students will only need to attend only ONE "Mandatory check in and clearance"
Graduate students usually attend a one day orientation that combines academic department information with general campus information. This occurs on both campuses, depending on major.
For Brooklyn graduate students, this day will be Wednesday, August 22 9am to 5pm. For Manhattan students in SILS, orientation is Thursday, August 23 from 5pm to 8pm. Students in Graduate Communications Design in Manhattan will have orientation on Friday, August 24 from 5pm to 8pm.
International students should read the letter in the "Downloads" box below.
