For Advisors
For Advisors
Pratt Institute Student Involvement requires each organization to have a volunteer advisor of their choosing in order to a club/organization in good standing.
An advisor is someone who is chosen by the organization to assist and guide them in their co-curricular endeavors. This person must be a full time faculty or staff member at Pratt. If you are a faculty or staff member interested in advising a student organization, please contact the Office of Student Involvement at studentactivities@pratt.edu.
Some of the skills utilized in being a successful advisor are: Listening, conflict resolution, decision making skills, motivation, sensitivity to group dynamics, tolerance to ambiguity, and sensitivity to group norms. Also, it helps to have time to attend occasional club meetings and some club events.
