Updates on Pratt Institute Recovery Efforts
Wednesday, Feb 27, 2013 @ 11:02 am
Dear Parent and Family Members,
As some of you may know, Pratt Institute had a fire at the Main Building on Friday, February 15th. We would like to update you with announcements about Pratt’s recovery efforts, and our progression thus far.
Pratt Institute’s facilities team has engaged an independent contractor, which specializes in disaster recovery, to secure and weatherproof the Main Building and begin the cleaning and restoration process. Pratt’s first priority is to help those students who have been most affected by the fire to start working again, particularly the students who lost studios and work. The Institute will provide Utretcht gift cards and Utretcht will donate materials to be distributed by the Fine Arts department. Pratt Institute staff worked to relocate classes, studios, and offices over the weekend of the fire. Pratt Institute also received a lot of donations from students, faculty and staff, parents, alumni, and friends. This fund will help in the rebuilding efforts to restore the Main Building. If interested, all inquiries and offers of gifts should be directed to mainrecovery@pratt.edu.
Please refer to our Parent and Family Facebook page, Pratt Institute Parents, for updates. The link below directs you to the latest announcement on the Pratt website:
