Suggestions for Traveling to Campus

Friday, Nov 02, 2012 @ 9:50 am

With the slow resumption of mass transit, getting to Pratt is challenging, but can be done.  Below are some suggested routes to campus that, to date, involve a bit of subway, a bit of bus, and a bit of walking.  Service is being restored daily, so consult mta.info for up to date information and the subway recovery map.

If you live in Brooklyn and regularly take buses, those buses are fully operational.  They may be crowded as subway service is curtailed a great deal…add a bit of extra time.

If you live in lower Manhattan above Canal:
Take any cross-town bus to Lexington/Bowery and transfer to the shuttle to Jay Street
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

If you live in the Bronx/Upper West Side, there are two ways to go:

1 and 2 trains are running all stops between the Bronx and 42nd St./Times Square
At Times Square, you can catch an M42 to Lexington and transfer to the shuttle to Jay Street
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

A trains are making all stops from Upper Manhattan to 34th St/Penn Station
At 34th Street, you can catch the M34 or M16 to Lexington and transfer to the shuttle to Jay Street
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

If you live in the Bronx/Upper East Side:
4 and 6 trains are making all stops to 42nd St/Grand Central
Walk to Lexington and catch the shuttle bus to Jay Street
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

If you live in Queens or Midtown West:
F and R trains are making all stops to 34th Street/Herald Square
At 34th Street, you can catch the M34 or M16 to Lexington and transfer to the shuttle to Jay Street
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

If you live in Brooklyn:
R, F, 4 and 5 trains are making all stops to Jay Street/MetroTech and Borough Hall
At Jay Street catch the A to Clinton/Washington and walk to campus

Hope this provides a bit of resource to get you back to campus!  Remember, service is being restored daily, so consult mta.info for up to date information.
