New Green City 2012 This Week!

Please join PSPD students and faculty at the New Green City event this Wednesday!  The event is free and open to the public, and a variety of organizations working on sustainability issues will be there, including PSPD who will have a strong presence!

PSPD's Green Infrastructure fellows will host a table with information about the PSPD as well as the recent Green Infrastructure Grant and PSPD's related design & technology workshops (booklets will be provided from our recent Garden Gadgets workshop!).  Featured projects will include our Summer Design & Build and the new Professional Certificate in Urban Green Infrastructure. 

Additionally, professors Paul Mankiewicz and Kate Zidar will conduct open lectures on the event's main stage.  The schedule is as follows:

PSPD will also host an interactive workshop and design & technology demonstration:

11:30 AM
Build Your Own Bioswale
Tricia Martin, RLA and Principal of WeDesign will lead a workshop on constructing a bioswale.  Participants will construct mini versions, plants and all!

2 PM
Local Environmental Monitoring:  Featuring the Air Quality Egg
Albert Chao and Joseph Saavedra of Sensemake.rs will lead a demonstration of this exciting open source technology!
