In celebration of her leading role in our upcoming summer collaborative workshop with BLESS, our Faculty Focus this week is on Visiting Associate Professor, Susan Cianciolo, who is teaching Fashion Illustration this semester as well as in Spring 2013. Cianciolo is an accomplished illustrator and fashion designer, her designs are regularly shown on the New York runways and are also featured in museums and galleries internationally.

After studying Fashion Design at Parsons The New School for Design, and painting at Winchester School of Art, she began her career by interning at Geoffrey Beene under Alber Ebaz. Cianciolo also worked as production manager for Kim Gordon's X-girl line and then moved on to assistant collection designer at Badgley Mischka.  From 1995 - 2001 she produced her critically acclaimed and commercially successful RUN collection. Other Cianciolo credits include a collaboration with Cone Denim in 2005, featured designs in the 2007 film "1960's Butterfly Girl", and teaching positions at Pratt as well as her alma mater Parsons. Upcoming events include her Cooking and Lifestyle Exhibit Part One: “Growing” at PRESSPOP GALLERY in Tokyo.
