The Intensive English Program at Pratt has a strong portfolio culture that goes back over ten years. Students have been using traditional paper portfolios to track their learning progress and documents major milestones they have achieved throughout the semester. Last year ago, the IEP launched a pilot program program to explore the electronic, web-based version of the traditional paper-based portfolios. The first pilot was conducted with one IEP class and the results were very promising as both faculty members and students were impressed with the many possibilities ePortfolios bring to the learning process. Each semester, thereafter, more instructors expressed interest in adopting ePortfolios into their courses. Today, we are proud to announce that all faculty has opted to switch from the paper-based portfolios to ePortfolios, making electronic portfolios and integral component of all courses offered by the Intensive English at Pratt.
