Alek Vacura's (MFA '09) thesis animation, "Without Arms" has won Best Student Animated Short at the 2009 AniMazing Spotlight Festival in Los Angeles.
"Without Arms" has been selected for screening at the Canadian Film Centre's SHORTSNONSTOP Festival, and was recently screened at the 11th Puchon International Student Animation Festival (PISAF2009) in South Korea, and the 4th Animarte 09 International Animation Festival, which will tour South America.
"Without Arms" won First Place in the Animation category of the 2009 SIGGRAPH SpaceTime Competition in New Orleans, and was recently screened at the 2009 Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival (MetroCAF) in New York City.
