George Smaragdis, MFA 2008 and Maowei Yu, MFA 2009 have been selected as semifinalists for the 2009 Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

Maowei Yu's MFA thesis, an installation entitled "Speechfighter", will be judged in the Installation Design category.

George Smaragdis'  MFA thesis, a digital animation entitled "Scrimshander", will be judged in the Animation category.
