Former Industrial Design Chair Alexander Kostellow (1898-1954) was profiled in the September 2011 issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine for his role in shaping Pratt's industrial design curriculum and aligning the Institute with top automotive firms, which resulted in notable automotive designs by Pratt graduates. Hemmings Classic Car is an all-American collector car magazine that is the fastest-growing collector car magazine in the world. It provides automobile profiles; exposes on automotive design, engineering, styling, and history; and profiles on collector car specialists and shops.
