Computer Labs Manhattan
The Pratt Manhattan Campus is located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan at 144 West 14th Street in New York City. Our labs offer state of the art computer and audiovisual technology for student and faculty. Although Students from all programs at Pratt are welcome to use our facilities, the labs are designed to serve the curriculum needs of of programs based on the Manhattan campus, including the graduate programs in Communications & Packaging Design, Information and Library Science, Facilities Management, Design Management and Arts & Cultural Management; undergraduate programs in Construction Management, Digital Design and Interactive Media, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Painting and Drawing; and classes in Continuing and Professional Studies. Our classrooms fall into four distinct catagories; general computer lab classrooms, specialized computer lab classrooms, technology enhanced classrooms, and open lab spaces. Computer lab classrooms are used for classes requiring computer technology in the curriculum and contain multiple computers for this purpose, general labs offer a robust software package to support the varying curriculum we support, whereas speciality labs go beyond this software package, supporting a variety of more specific software and hardware geared to very distinct curriculum needs. Technology enhanced classrooms are traditional classrooms containing presentation technology for the teacher including a single computer, VHS/DVD deck, and ability to connect a laptop. Open labs are available for students, faculty and staff to utilize during our normal hours of operation to complete course assignments or individual projects.
The Pratt Manhattan also supports a full service Color Print Center, which offers a variety of printing and finishing services. Academic Computing at Pratt Manhattan is also responsible for audiovisual equipment requests, our Lecture Hall in the 14th street facility, and the w18 studios located on west 18th Street.
