Ph.D., Columbia University; Physics – laser spectroscopy

Biography

Practiced laser spectroscopy at City College of NY and l'Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris); joined Brookhaven National Laboratory and switched to energy analysis and development of energy-efficient technologies; taught full time at Pratt 1987-93; back to BNL, acquired NYS Professional Engineering license; then into the non-profit sector; first as Senior Engineer at The Community Environmental Center, making existing and new buildings more energy efficient in the NYC metro area, now as Director of Research at Urban Green Council (the NY chapter of the US Green Building Council), working on long-term sustainability planning for NYC, more stringent building codes, and worker education.
