In between his academic studies he was a taxi driver and served in a United States Army combat engineer battalion in West Germany. Jeffries came to Pratt in 1993, and in 1996, in conjunction with the Media Arts department, he produced and directed the documentary film, What’s Jazz? In 2003, Kensington Press published his autobiographical memoir, Triple Exposure: Black, Jewish and Red in the 1950s. Jeffries lives in Brooklyn. |
