Biography

Rosemary Grebin Palms was born in Minnesota; she has been a New Yorker since 1970 and on the Pratt faculty since 1973.

Contributions at Pratt include teaching first; but also serving on numerous committees, both departmental and institute-wide; Director of Freshman English for eight years; first Co-Director of Writing Across the Curriculum program at Pratt; first President of Academic Senate; brief stint as Strategic Planning Coordinator for the Institute. Outside interests have included community service (e.g., tutoring in a literacy program and volunteering as a mediator at a community mediation center) and the peace movement. Favorite pastimes include tennis and travel.
