Biography

Caroline Ward, a recognized authority in the field of library services to youth, is currently the Coordinator of Youth Services at the Ferguson Library in Stamford Connecticut. She has worked as ChildrenÂ’s Services Consultant at the Vermont Department of Libraries, Library Publicity Manager at HarperCollins Publishers, and Youth Services Consultant at the Nassau Library System. Her knowledge of childrenÂ’s books and her enthusiasm for bringing them alive for children makes her a frequent speaker at workshops throughout the country. She is reviews for School Library Journal, and is an active member of the American Library Association. She chaired the 1990 Newbery Committee, and in 1999-2000 served as President of the Association for Library Services to Children, a Division of the American Library Association. She Chaired 2006 Theodor Seuss Geisel Beginning Reader Award, and is chairing the 2009 Notable ChildrenÂ’s Book Committee. Caroline Ward received the 2005 Grolier Award from the American Library Association for Outstanding Service to Youth.
