Spring 2013 Curriculum and Tuition
Weekend Courses in Architecture, Art and Design, and Portfolio Development Classes
Introduction to Architecture
What is architecture? What is its purpose? What is it like to be an architect? How can we use architecture in our own lives? This course is designed to answer these questions and more. Useful for students considering architecture as a profession, each class focuses on a different subject (for example, design, structures, the future). These issues are explored through design projects, field trips, presentations, and class discussions. The instructor advises students applying to architectural schools on preparing portfolios. Materials fee: $20 paid to instructor at first class (for initial materials, additional supplies will be required.)

Architectural Design Studio
Design studios are the core of every college architectural program. This is a unique class in which the student is assigned design problems and then works in close contact with the instructor to develop a solution. The instructor encourages students to account for basic notions about space, form, and how architecture communicates in developing their solutions through drawings and models. The work produced in the course may be used in the portfolios of those seriously interested in applying to architecture or design schools. This course must be taken in conjunction with or after Introduction to Architecture.
Materials fee: $20 paid to instructor at first class (for initial materials, additional supplies will be required.)
