Liberty Partnerships
We had to suspend the operation of Pratt's Liberty Partnership Program because the State informed us that, given the strong competition for limited resources, PLPP and other LPP's within New York City would not be funded for the funding cycles 2009 to 2014. We, at Pratt, in recognition of the need for the program in our community, have appealed the State's decision and are currently exploring other sources of funds to restore the program.
Program Info
We are a New York State Education Department funded program operated by Pratt Institute.For the past five years, the Pratt Liberty Partnerships Program has been providing remedial and enrichment instructional services in English and basic mathematics to school-age children, in grades 5 through 12. Recently, we have added exploratory courses on selected design occupations such as: Architecture, Industrial Design and Computer Animation. Many families have used our services for their children. And, we would like many more to know that these services are also available to them at no cost. Program services are provided summers and, Saturday mornings during the school year.
Eligible to attend are those who:
1. are struggling with reading and math;
2. need to improve scores on standardized tests;
3. need to substantially improve grades in school; and/or,
4. are overage for the 5th and 6th grades.
