Course Listing13/FA-COMD-321-05 Illustration III 13/FA-COMD-401E-03 Senior Project 13/FA-COMD-467-01 Drawing on Location Personal URLhttp://www.studio1482.com/#veronicaBiographyA Bronx, NY native, Veronica Lawlor is an illustrator who has completed reportage assignments for a diverse group of clients including Brooks Brothers, Gallo Winery, the Hyatt hotel chain and the 3M Corporation. Her drawings of the 9/11 World Trade Center attack are featured in the Newseum of Journalism in Washington DC, and were exhibited at the NYC Fire Museum in 2006. Other exhibits include the United Nations, the Society of Illlustrators, the US embassy in Guinea, and the Ellis Island Museum of Immigration. Her illustration has appeared in such diverse publications as the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Columbia Law Journal, and New York magazine, and her fashion work includes advertising for Lord & Taylor. Her illustrated picture book, I Was Dreaming to Come to America, (Viking Press) is part of the NY teaching curriculum and was awarded by the NCSS. Her illustration work has earned her the recognition of American Illustration, the Rx Club, and Communication Arts, and she has been featured in Step-by-Step and Communication Arts magazines. She has also been an art director with DC comics, and works with photo and video. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Veronica is on the faculty of Pratt Institute and Parsons the New School for Design, and conducts reportage workshops worldwide. Veronica lives and works in New York City’s lower east side. She is the President of Studio 1482, an illustration and design collective. |
