K. Wendy Popp Adjunct Assistant Professor B.A., Pratt Institute; Wendy is an artist who’s works have appeared in many publications and have graced the covers and the interiors of books, periodicals, and newspapers internationally since 1981. Publishers include; The New York Times, Harper Collins, Random/Doubleday/Dell, Penguin/Putnam, Scholastic Books, and Time/Life Publications, among others. Critics’ selections have included her work in The New York Times, U.S.A. Today, The Beacon Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Seattle News, The Miami Herald, among others. Her awards and honors are numerous, among them; The Dean Cornwall Recognition Award from The Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration, The Distinguished Educator of The Year Award from The New School University, The Sydney Tyler Book Award, and The Washington Irving’s Children’s Choice Honor. She has taken part in, juried, initiated and chaired many exhibitions. Recent examples have been with The Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration, The United Nations and The New York Historical Society. Her work continues to be displayed in solo and traveling group exhibitions nationally. She has been an educator for 16 years for New York Institutions of art, namely; Pratt Institute, Parsons The New School for Design and formerly, The Fashion Institute of Technology. She is a member of the Illustrators Partnership, The Society of Illustrators and an invited juror for both the National Alliance for Education and Artslink-Partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
