Biography

A lifetime resident of Brooklyn.

I studied Illustration and Graphic Design at Pratt Institute. Began career as a Design Assistant at Island Records in September 1989. Worked on support projects with Art Directors Tony Wright and George DuBose.

Started work as Graphic Designer at Sony Music in December 1990. Worked with recording artists like Michael Bolton, Branford Marsalis, Bob Dylan, Earth Wind and Fire, Mercury Rev, Cypress Hill and many other, designing CD packaging, ads and posters.

In February of 1995 started working at Elektra Records as Sr. Art Director. Worked with recording artists Pantera, Better Than Ezra, AC/DC, Judy Collins, Old 97’s and Gerald Levert.

After a combined 10 years designing CD packaging and related materials, I moved to RDA Int’l to try advertising. The agency was small focusing on Professional Electronics Brands like Korg and Sony as well as Video game developers, Acclaim Entertainment and Infogrames. Just as this area was being explored the opportunity to work at MTV presented itself in May of 2000.

June of 2000 I began working at MTV starting with the VMA print campaign for that year. As I write this I am VP of Off-Air Creative and I’ve worked on 8 VMA campaigns, 7 Movie Awards, 3 channel launches and dozens of other projects.

I’ve won awards from Communication Arts, Print Magazine, Graphis, PROMAX and BDA.
