Biography

Frank Franca’s photographs have been published and exhibited internationally. His work has appeared in Art Forum, Art News, Vogue, W, Details, The New York Times Magazine, Le Monde (France), Studio Voice (Japan), Marie Claire (Italy), Die Zeit (Germany) The Cairo Sun (Egypt) and other national and international publications. Grants include: The British Council, Red Hot and Blue Org., Citizens’ Exchange Council (Russia), Arts Link Residency in Budapest. He was founding faculty of ICP @ The Point which was a recipient of the Coming Up Taller Award: a project of the President’s Committee on the Arts presented for outstanding after school arts education by First Lady Laura Bush at the White House, 2006. Frank was a member of the Visual Aids Artists’ Caucus, creators of public art works Electric Blanket:AIDS Projection Project and the Red Ribbon Project for AIDS Awareness. He is currently a faculty member of ICP (International Center of Photography). He has a BFA in Filmmaking from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Frank was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up there, in Vigo and Malaga, Spain, and Miami. Formerly he was London correspondent for Fairchild Publications. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
