While he found journalism rewarding, he began to feel he wanted to make stuff himself. So he headed for The University of the Arts in Philadelphia to become a Graphic Designer. As it fortunately turned out, making things was much more interesting and fun than writing about them. Upon his return to New York, Alexander worked at Designframe, a small, highly acclaimed studio for about ten years and has lately been flying solo. Alexander’s clients range from the NFL (National Football League) to Haviland Limoges – manufactures of the world’s finest French china. “The fun of communication design, ”says Alexander,“ is that one momentyou’re thinking about and designinga newsletter for the NFL and the nextan advertisement for an 18th century dinner service.”.”
