The Pratt Portal:ID offers design news and announcements curated by and for Pratt ID students.
The Prattlist is a Craigslist-style discussion hub where students can show housing listings, sell books and school supplies, and have ID-related discussions.
Material Purchases
Buying materials will now be done through your PrattCard at the following location: https://www.prattcard.com/
The PrattCard allows you to add money with a credit or debit card online. There is also a machine in the Bursar's office that accepts cash. This service is what is used in the computer labs for printing and will now be used in the ID department for RPLab 3D printing and purchases for materials in the shop. Materials can be purchased in the shop, directly from a shop technician. Blue Cards will be phased out by the end of the fall 2010 semester. Please use your Blue Cards now, as they are no longer valid after the fall.
Rapid Prototyping Lab 3D Printing
The RP Lab will continue to price jobs for you.Please bring your RP Lab job and payment information to the main office to pay for printing using your PrattCard account. After 6pm, jobs can be paid for in the 5th floor woodshop using the PrattCard, up until 10pm.
You can pay for your RP Lab jobs at the following locations and hours:
ID Office: 9:00AM - 6:00PM
ID Woodshop: 6:00PM -10:00PM
Checks will no longer be acceptable to pay for RPLab jobs. Please make sure you have enough funds in your PrattCard account to cover the cost of your print job.
Deposits
Studio Deposits
The use of a cubicle/studio is a privilege provided by the Pratt Industrial Design Department to all eligible students. Undergraduate and Graduate students must read and sign a studio contract to be considered for a space. A refundable studio deposit of $50.00 will be charged at the beginning of the term and eligible student’s deposits will be released after the move out date.Studio swipe or key access will be granted after the deposit has been paid.Students are eligible to have their deposit continue for the following semester, if applicable, unless a studio damage fee is charged. A fee will be charged for those who do not adequately clean their desk and throw out all unwanted items.Please review the terms and conditions of the Studio Contract for eligibility, rules, and regulations. Key Access
Students who access their studios with a key will be required to pay a $25.00 refundable key deposit. The student will be reimbursed when the key is returned. If a key is lost, the student will not be eligible for a deposit refund.
Lockers
If a student chooses to rent a locker, a $25.00 key deposit will be charged. Students may keep lockers while they are students at Pratt. Once student graduates, they must vacate the locker. The key deposit will be refunded once the key is returned. If a key is lost, the student will not be eligible for a deposit refund.
Payment for all Deposits
All studio and key deposits should be paid in the form of check or money order, made out to Pratt Institute. Please include your student ID number, and studio and desk number in the memo line. Please pay for all necesasary deposits in one check, if possible.
