Upon graduation, he lectured in the Industrial Design Dept. of the Arts Institute of Bournemouth before moving to New York in 2003, where he worked as a freelance consultant before starting his own studio in 2006. While being resolutely functional, his work seeks to balance a rational and obvious approach to materials and fabrication with a broader exploration of our understanding and connection to objects and their uses, both physical and cultural, with the aim of creating ‘quiet’ yet layered products. Robert currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. |
