Biography

Jordan is a sculptor and educator who was educated at Cooper Union and Yale. He has taught design at the School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute since 1963. At Pratt, he teaches 3D design, drawing and moldmaking. Jordan is an accomplished sculptor and fabricator. He has designed and fabricated exhibitions, store displays, prototypes for Tiffanys, Bonwitt Teller, IBM, Lever Brothers, Revlon, and Henry Dreyfuss. In his professional life as a sculptor, he has been commissioned to produce work for countless hotels, restaurants, banks, ships, churches, synagogues and private residences in New York City. His work can even be found at the base of the Statue of Liberty, where he was commissioned to cast the bronze entranceway doors. He is the recipient of two Guggenheim Fellowships.
