Biography

Thomas Beachdel is a specialist in nineteenth century art and architectural history.  He is currently completing a dissertation on landscape aesthetics and the sublime in late eighteenth-century France.  He has lectured at the Dahesh Museum, and currently lectures at the Metropolitan Museum, the Guggenheim, the New Museum and at contemporary galleries in conjunction with the art education programs at the 92nd Street Y and Tribeca Y.  He has taught courses on art and architectural history at Hunter College and at Spitzer School of Architecture (City College).
